Fossil group origins

چکیده
Aims. We analyse the large-scale structure out to 100 Mpc around a sample of 16 confirmed fossil systems using spectroscopic information from Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 16. Methods. computed distance between our groups (FGs) and centres filaments nodes literature. also studied density bright galaxies, since this parameter is thought be good mass tracers, as well projected over-densities galaxies. Finally, we applied friends-of-friends (FoF) algorithm detect virialised structures FGs obtain an estimate available in their surroundings. Results. find that are mainly located close filaments, with mean 3.7 ± 1.1 R 200 minimum 0.05 . On other hand, none were found intersections, 19.3 3.6 6.1 , respectively. There correlation indicates at higher redshifts denser regions, when use galaxies tracers mass. At same time, largest magnitude gaps (? m 12 > 2.5) less dense environments tend host (on average) smaller central Conclusions. Our results suggest formed peculiar position within cosmic web, far nodes, whereby interaction web itself may limited. deduce brightest (BCGs) relatively faint, high values ? low could, fact, very last stage evolution. Moreover, confirm theoretical predictions gap not massive.

Interpreting the fossil evidence for the evolutionary origins of music
The adaptive history of two components of music, rhythmic entrained movement and complex learned vocalization, is examined. The development of habitual bipedal locomotion around 1.6 million years ago made running possible and coincided with distinct changes in the vestibular canal dimensions. The vestibular system of the inner ear clearly plays a role in determining rhythm and therefore bipedal...
متن کاملFossil Plants of the Group Cycadofilices
filices " embraces a number of Paleozoic generic types combining structural characters of the ferns and of the gymnosperms. As originally established by Potonie 1 it was confined chiefly to genera founded on petrified trunks, petioles, and roots, with the provisional reference of several frond types. Subsequent research has established the correlation of the fronds of several of the members, an...
متن کاملThe Compact Group–fossil Group Connection: Observations of a Massive Compact Group at Z=0.22
It has been suggested that fossil groups could be the canibalized remains of compact groups, that lost energy through tidal friction. However, in the nearby universe, compact groups which are close to the merging phase and display a wealth of interacting features (such as HCG 31 and HCG 79) have very low velocity dispersions and poor neighborhoods, unlike the massive, cluster-like fossil groups...
متن کاملHas the Combination of Genetic and Fossil Evidence Solved the Riddle of Modern Human Origins?
The rapid accumulation of new genetic data has not settled the issue of the origin of modern humans. However, the wealth of new data and theory has narrowed the range of models that researchers consider plausible. Any survey of the recent literature will reveal conflicting conclusions about the significance of the genetic evidence. These conclusions vary from statements that Multiregional Evolu...
متن کاملAustralia's first fossil marsupial mole (Notoryctemorphia) resolves controversies about their evolution and palaeoenvironmental origins
Fossils of a marsupial mole (Marsupialia, Notoryctemorphia, Notoryctidae) are described from early Miocene deposits in the Riversleigh World Heritage Area, northwestern Queensland, Australia. These represent the first unequivocal fossil record of the order Notoryctemorphia, the two living species of which are among the world's most specialized and bizarre mammals, but which are also convergent ...
